Nothing much to say.. there's no real detail in boost pressures, what you're doing with the car, chassis, which Apex'i turbocharger, etc...

There's nothing to comment on

But why? The $ per HP on that would be little to nothing. Show us a dyno sheet and specifics on the motor and we can talk on next steps.

For a turbocharged car it can make a significant difference in the whole powerband IF made of a sturdy construction. Not just on some dyno but for a full powerband outside of DYNO WORLD

Lol i got a apexi world sport 2 on there right now, its way to quiet and im not sure if it restricts pressure when it gets to the muffler i have on there now .

i wanna pick up a 3" muffler from skunk2 or apexi again...

Quiet does not mean restrictive. What is the flow rate on that exhaust? Next a larger "muffler" will not help. The pipe needs to be replaced, that would include the down pipe as well.

I'm not making big power at all my buddy still needs to dig around for the dyno sheets but i'm tuned to 10 psi. I'm guessing around 250 whp? piping i have there now is a 2.5 straight pipe no cat.

Hey man!

If your exhaust on the car currently is the Apexi WS2 n/a catback exhaust. It has a piping OD of 2.36" and the muffler restricts your top end power.

So you deffinately can see some gains in going 3" straight pipe with any 3" turbo muffler. I used the Apexi World Sport 2 3" Turbo muffer in my applications with the KTeller 3" pre-fabricated stainless steel exhaust and had GREAT success with a very nice sounding exhaust in my old boosted set up.

in terms as to howmuch power you are making. It's all hard to say without knowing the specifics of the turbo kit you have. Turbo size will make a difference as to what power levels your putting out at 10PSI. You mentioned your running Type R cams, this will net you more HP over stock GSR Cams for sure. When I swapped my B16 cams out for CTR cams only leaving Cam timing stock I picked up 27whp.

I.E when I had my old Garrett t3/t4 turbo .63 on the exhaust side I made 310whp @ 10psi, when I changed the turbo alone to a Garrett GT35R with a .82 AR on the exhaust side I made 350WHP @10PSI.

Just some food for thought!

If your buddy cannot find his dyno sheets. Take that car to a dyno and get a reading of what its putting down. Shouldn't cost more than $100.

Hope this helps!

i also use kteller 3" exhaust and Apexi world sport 2 Turbo muffler with 3" inlet. Now if you have the N/A version that is a different story... There is no restriction with that muffler its a straight thru design. i also have a 18" resonator as well...the quiter the better for me. I Had my dumptube recirculated as well...I have a t3/t4oe 60 trim just got retuned to 411whp @ 20psi...and 464 whp with 35shot. i would definatly upgrade to 3" exhaust as youre going to want more power eventually once the boost bug gets you...

3 inch exhaust on turbo cars and small turbos sound like stock...on a big turbo with a big exhaust housing then they get a lil louder....4 inch on a gt42/s372...sounds like an allmotor

3'' downpipe to 3'' race cat or testpipe your choice, to 3'' midpipe to 3'' muffler, dont be dumb an half *** it

and why would you remove a higher flowing skunk2 intake manifold and put on a junk gsr intake mani?

Why would you get rid of the skunk2 IM? you're going backwards. You would also have to refab the intake pipe from the intercooler.

Stop just trying the change parts out for the sake of doing so. Understand WHAT YOU HAVE before getting rid of it for something else.

Ah yes, the "I read somewhere" argument. That **** always gets to the inquisitive mind too early.

if you can't tell right away because there's too much oil, clean all the oil off with a rag and some brake cleaner, then get under there with a flashlight to see where the fresh oil is coming from.
