pic request: high horsepower street car wheel and tire combo
I'm looking to buy a new set of wheels for my street car. I am interested in m&h 235/60/15 up front. Anyone have pics of this setup with a nice looking wheel. Anyone run different size wheels in the rear like a 16 or 17 but in the same style wheel? Wondering if anyone has this type of setup and pics or if its just a dumb idea?

I would definitely say go with BFGoodrich DR, I have the 225/50s on my car and they hook like a **** on the street. Im over 300whp and barely get any spinning.

Im running the 225/50/15 bfg drags as well. These tires are very gummy and wont last that long, but they have very good traction. Some guys are running 235/50/15 bfg's with the old tread pattern with good success.
Anything over 325 hp and traction is still an issue in the lower gears no matter what street tire you're using.

M&H 235/60r15
coilovers raised all the way up in the front
normal tires on the back.
these tires will hook better then the new MTs (because they are a bias ply, whereas the MTs are a radial) , but they are NOT power street (as in the NOPI race class) legal
if all you want to do is hook on the street, and your not worried about the race classes,
get these tires.

235/60/15 M&H's on ITR wheels, Koni Yellows with skunk2 coilovers. I have 500whp and it hooks in 3rd gear with a b16 tranny. I really couldn't ask for more on the street. Great tires.

I would think so. I have 225's in the back with no problems.

For those fo you running the bias ply MHs, I realize they prob hook better then any other street tire, butare they safe for extended highway driving, normal street use, etc... Have any of you got alot of miles on them, enough to give us an idea of how they wear?

Re: pic request: high horsepower street car wheel and tire combo (IRONlung201)
I believe john @ M&H told me to expect around 4-5k miles, but really it depends on how you drive. if you are hitting the strip/street every weekend with a lot of burnouts and races they certainly aren't going to last long at all.

Re: pic request: high horsepower street car wheel and tire combo (JSpin)
I run 225/45/17's all aronud. BFG drag radials. Mounted on Rota grids, 17x7.5" with 28 offset.
http://gallery.tchleung.com/al...G.jpg
lowered about 1.5"
Tire height is 25"
Making aprox 400-425whp.
Rubs badly on inside witht his offset. BUt it also rubs on the otuside of the fender lip whenevr I hit a bump, sometimes pulling and bnding the fender lip down. Either need to raise the car up more, or run stiff stiff spring rates.

i think thats the tire i'm gonna step down to on a 15" jspl or track-r
i like these wheels and tires, but i hate the fact that my car sits higher than a stock 2wd truck...lol
i had to raise the car 3.5" with my omnipowers

I have driven mine on a 1000 mile road trip with no problems. I probably have easily 2500-3000 miles on them and they don't even look used. Thats even doing second gear burnouts on the street to heat them up.

i would say the cheapest tire you could get, or maybe the hardest compound tire. your not going to get any traction at that kinda power no matter what tire you put on there, so why put expensive tired on there just to waste.

If everyone thought like that, we'd all be driving stock cars, or RWD cars. The people in this thread are reporting excellent traction increases with these tires, so whats the problem? AND they seem to be getting better mileage out of them then what I would have thought...
No need to make a bad platform for traction (High HP FWD) even worse with shitty tires...
