People running Skunk2 IM on Boosted B18B. Was it worth it...?
I recently purchased one of these for a very good price and wanted to get some info from people actually running this setup...
What are the pros and cons of this manifold?
Did it make much of a difference?
Any problems during or after install?
TIA, Jay

Ask Mase, he had a Skunk2 IM on his turbo LS.
Mase posted his dyno sheet here: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=309285
Hope that helps

Installation wasnt that bad. Its kinda a pain in the *** to get to the lower bolts holding the Intake mani to the head, but its not bad. Had to take both intake mani's to a machine shop and have them transfer the throttle body studs and fuel rail studs......
also, on the skunk2, there is an extra spout for coolant, i had to ghetto rig up a way to block it, so i just attatched a hose w/ a bolt at the end....hehe hasnt leaked a drop!
Other than that, the only thing i can tell you is, the skunk2 im doesnt have a bung for the evap sensor, but that isnt a big deal.
If you have any other questions, hit me up on AIM - SCMGatorEngineer, or you can send me a PM.

by looking at the skunk2 vs. the stock LS manifold visually you would think it will make a big difference. the plenum is larger and the runners are shorter. the runner angle is better too. I cant wait to get mine installed and do a dyno comparison. Mase made 4hp less then me but it took him 8lbs less torque to do it. he was running less boost too. Im hoping for increases in both peak torque and hp from this mani. for 250-300$ I think it is a well worth it bolt on. hopefully ill have the comparisons soon.

the skunk2 manifold is a lot better then stock for sure but for the money you can get a JG IM for 300 and i think there a lot better then skunk2. but since you already got the skunk use that.

What did the people with the skunk2 manifold do since there isn't a bung for the evap sensor. I'm assuming the evap sensor is the one on the top of the manifold. I already installed the mani on my engine thats sitting in the basement and thats the only thing that im not sure about.

Skunk2 OWNZ on an LS. I installed mine prior to boost and noticed a dramitic increase in the midrange all the way up. I swapped out from a 91 auto IM, which has the EGR passages and just plain sucks. I"m sure it does wonders for my boosted engine also. No regrets about the $200 I layed down for a used one. Though, I can't see the point of getting another mani over this one. It works so well with the LS rev range I don't see why you would need any more flow unless you're on a full blown race engine with a much higher redline, than the stock LS 7000 RPM.

what i did, is actually secured the sensor to the throttle body.....then ran a hose to the pcv valve....

I've heard that the JG manifold is good for running alot of boost like something over 20 pounds. Anything below that and the skunk 2 is more than capable of doing the job. The JG also is most effective from 7,000 to 10,000 rpm.

Reason i asked this question is because i recently picked one up for $150, which i thought was an excellent deal and had planned on making some cash from it...
I'm putting together a "turbo kit" as we speak and i could have used the $150 for other "more important" things. Just wanted to know if it was worth keeping. Looks like it is...

i would definitly keep it.
i thought about waiting it out for the JG but I started to just think about the designs of the two manifolds and the skunk 2 seemed better for my application. plus i like that it looks stock when I pop my hood, although the JG is functional it looks like a friggen blimp.
