Well before I go modifying the pipes, I contacted phx and peak to see what can be done about different pipes.

I didn't use the PeakBoost charge pipes, partly because they were discontinued for my setup. I bought a charge pipe kit on ebay for about 100bucks, I just made everything fit in as close and tight as possible, didn't have to cut anything that was noticeable from the front. Very happy with my results.

Which is odd, with a company that is suppose to be so great as peakboost, you would think their intercooler piping would work better than some $100 piping on ebay.

Im not saying the way I did my charge pipes will provide more power, but as far as a cosmetic stand point, I believe it works better.

wow these $3000 "kits" make the car look like ****. im sure they make awesome power. but ****, who cares how much power you're making, if you have to hack appart your bumper.

im glad my pipes were properly fitted by someone who knew what they were doing. BTW they didnt even use my car to make the piping

isn't that the truth. I would be upset if my $3000 kit did not inform me I would have to hack the **** out of the front bumper to fit properly. I can understand trying to save money by using an eg and dc piping kit, but it doesnt work that way. I purchased some $165 aluminum intercooler piping kit on ebay and it fit perfectly.

please read all the posts above before posting.

again, the customer has yet to install the kit and is not using the factory bumper support to mount the fmic as it was designed.
we are very confident in the fitment of our systems and stand behind our products 100%. have done so for the last ~6 years... oh and our toll free # works, 877-23TURBO

we have been in contact with the OP and he has been notified that if he is having any issues with the piping, after properly installing the kit and fmic, we will gladly take care of it.

How can you post a response like this when its obvious you have problems with the intercooler piping for some car models. Its not like the rest of the pictures in this thread are just flying out of no where. There are a handful of people that have already stated that the fitment is ****.

It doesnt sound like a proper install is the problem, its the the piping kit itself.

It'll fit, I'm not too worried about it. If there is a problem, I have the best guys in the industry backing me up.

Your opinion = bullshit.......

Cmon guys, every car is a little bit different...... Who knows if your car may have had a slight fender bender or front end collision or anything that can throw the alignment off. Just get creative and use your head, you cant expect everything to fit perfectly from car to car even if its the same model.

There you go. Properly installed if you ask me.. the driver side piping is way to big, and results in it hitting the bumper. You can cut the fog light holes out, and still it will NOT fit. Another option that would be getting "Creative" would be to cut the piping shoter on the intercooler and the turbo hot side... but why do that when you spend all that money on a somethign that is supposed to fit right? Furthermore, you buy the kit instead of hacking something up, because its bead rolled in order for the charge piping to not pop off under that maad b00st... im interested to hear back from you guys...

Just curious, what turbo manifold is that? By the angle of the pic it does not look like a PeakBoost FTW or Vers 1 mani. It looks like it is a twisted design like One Fab used to make. If it is a Peakboost, I apologize just going by the pic.

welding a bead is just as good, if not better than a bead roll IMO

Agreed, if you are using the PeakBoost piping with anything other than a PeakBoost manifold or intercooler, it will not be a direct fit..

With the amount of PeakBoost kits out there, there is bound to be an issue at some point or another. Since we've redesigned the charge pipe kit 2 years ago, this is the first we've heard of any fitment issues.

Anything PeakBoost related, questions, concerns, orders... we can be reached toll free 877-23-TURBO

Thanks,

Ken Peak

Yea definitely looks to me like your mani places the turbo a lil more towards the drivers side.....

compare it with mine:

i had slight fitament issues also but not bad, bumper still fit fine just had to cut out the grills, i recently bought a victor x mani and the charge piping didnt fit to well, all i did was take about an inch and a half off the lower ic piping on the passanger side and trim the bumper a little and it fits good

My peakboost kit fit perfect, the only thing I could not do was run my traction bars, but I spend $15 of some things and then I was able to run them.

everything on mine was perfect expect on the passanger side, but then again before i got my car it had front end damage so that could have been a factor

whats the difference between my opinion and your? i had the same fitment issue as the op around year ago and they said they were gonna change it for future customers but they didn't.
