Default Painting FMIC?

My friend has a turbo LS and wants to paint his Intercooler flat black. What kind of paint will he have to use?

The flat black barbeque paint from home depot will do just fine.

I heard oil based paint works the best. A thick paint is like a barrier over you intercooler fins. Thinner is better.

You could always have it anodized instead.
