Default oxygen sensor placement for OBD1?

i'll be converting to uberdata next week. right now i have a B16A with two oxygen sensors. i'll be changing over to just one for the OBD1 ecu, so i will make a new location downstream so that it can read all four cylinders. my question: where is the o2 sensor typically placed on OBD1 cars? is it right after the header? right before the cat? i'd like to match the location so that the response time will be about the same as what the ECU is expecting.

thanks

Anywhere in front of the cat is good. Stock location is about 6" in front of the cat.

Yep, further from the head. Stock is behind the oilpan I believe. At least it is on the ITR manifold we've got in the garage. OBD0 needs to be close to the head so the exhaust can keep the sensor hot, but a heater in combo with the hot exhaust gas would probably burn out the sensor if you just used your stock mani.
