Default overheating problems,kinda strange.

b16a3,saab t3,intercooler,370 cc's,vafc,missing link,btm set at .33.

del sol dual core radiator,12 inch slimline.

ok,car runs nice and cool for atleast 20 minutes, guage goes to normal temps and stays there.on my way to work.then this morning on the way home,i pull into the auto parts store and let it run for a few minutes while im inside.then on the way home it starts to overheat.when it starts to see boost it boggs down real bad and the egt's go way up.

the hoses are looking like they are swelling,so im not sure if maybe its the rad cap or not.when i feel the hoses they are tight like alot of pressure build up,and my coolant overflow tank is almost empty.

the car is running stock timing,it is not fully tuned yet but is tuned a little.

Check your coolant and oil for any signs of mixing, sounds like you may have a blown headgasket.

my fan is on the back side of the radiator, next to the engine, should it be blowing air towards the engine or blowing it on the radiator.i think i had it reversed.it was blowing towards the front of the car.my timing was retarded also.

i dont quit understand ,i set it yesterday, but today its retarded again.maybe my idile was too high.

Anyway, if you are loosing coolant, you have a head gasket leak. Of course that would explain other things too.

I was losing coolant and it would cause it to overheat, I could never find out where it came from untill one day on the highway the bypass hose on the back of the engine exploded.

apparently there had been a small leak and thats where my coolant was going and my highway boost finally split it.

Are you losing coolant or is it just overheating?

The fan will definitley make you overheat if you are blowing hot air from the engine onto the radiator.
