Overboosting question
Whats up guys, I recently finished installing my turbo kit and got tuned at VSV performance. I originally thought I had .3 bar spring on my tial gate. Well when I got tuned, for some reason, I was boosting up to .7-.8bar. We figured that maybe I had mistaken my spring to be a .3bar spring when it was really a .7bar spring. Well..today, I think i solved the problem. I had a vacuum manifold tapped into the brake booster line and my wastegate line tapped into the vacuum manifold. Turns out, I had a leak in my vacuum manifold. After fixing that leak, I am now boosting .3bar consistently now. One thing that still confuses me, however is that on a few occasions before fixing the leak, I had boosted and hit .9 bar before on the Greddy boost guage I have. What i don't understand is how is that possible when my map sensor is still stock, and I also had my boost cut set at 11.2 psi on my hondata s200b.

Re: Overboosting question (Sohc Driver)
i thought if you boost over 11.4 psi with the stock map sensor it will use the last boost fuel table it can read. I dunno what happened if you have the boost cut before that though.

Re: Overboosting question (SOHC_MShue)
well...lets say i did boost over the stock map sensor...shouldn't my CEL have come on..or my boost cut been engaged? The boost cut was set at 11.2psi...and for some reason..my greddy boost guage read up to .9bar a few times. And I really don't think the boost guage was off at all, because after the leak from the vacuum manifold was fixed..the guage read exactly what it was supposed to run from the git go, which was .3bar.
