Over boosted!! :(
I was creeping home last week after visiting my girl when a jackass in a big NISSAN turbo Sedan started riding my ***! I changed lanes so he could pass me because I didn't feel like playing! *** monkey changes lanes with me so I slowed down to 15kph in a 50kphzone hoping that he would drive around me! Well I guess he liked my bumper because he made no attempt to pass me eventhough I was driving slower than GranMaMa on Qualudes! After 1 minutes of this crap I decided to drop the hammer. Wow! My car was EXTREMELY fast and then the Defi gauges started beeping like crazy! EGT reading was 900 degrees celcius ! Boost reading was 1.2bar ! Since I didn't hear any rattling rounds or see in smoke clouds I continued to creep home again since I knew I had just blue a vacuum line to the AVC-R. I'm glad the engine is OK because 1.2bar with 440cc injectors is not a good combo! Sorry about the small, fuzzy pics but they were taken with my cell phone!

Re: Over boosted!! :( (Speed PHreak)
Had nothing to do with zip ties. When I took my car apart a couple weeks ago somebody knocked my IC pipe off of a table. The -6 AN adapter in the IC pipe for the bottom of the w/g somehow got damaged during that fiasco so when I boosted on that night last week the line blew out of the IC pipe causing the over boost situation. Zip ties would have done nothing in that situation but I do use zip ties on my none AN fitting vacuum lines. I repaired the problem with JB Weld because I will be changing to aluminum piping soon and I didn't want to waste another AN adapter. I can't wait to boost 1.4bar all of the time because 1.2bar was AWESOME!!
Oh yeah, Stock internals on this engine because the 84.5mm B18C is still sitting in different parts of my apartment!

Well good to hear that you didn't blow up the motor. I was expecting to read about how you blew up the motor, after seeing the subject of your thread.

What phone do you have to take pics with?? Is that the phone from the Movie "The Saint" with Val Kilmer?

All I wanna know is did you show up on that idiot behind you? I guess so!
On another note, I hope you got lucky and all is fine.

I was already murderlizing people with .7bar but at 1.2bar I totally destroyed that VG30DET powered Nissan Gloria ! I use 100octane RON (about 95~97 Octane US).
My Phone is a Docomo D251i. I'll post pics of the phone later!

Overboosted?...no such thing. You should call it boosted higher than you intended. You can never have enough boost.
you have obviously never had to rebuild due to a overboost grenaded motor
i need those gauges!! but the greddy's will have to do for now.
