OT: BIG suspension/driveline problems
Kinda off the turbo topic.... However, Im kinda biased towards the FI forum.
Im in need of some advice. My girls 95 turbo talon is not doing so well (I know its not a honda). The front right suspension/driveline is pretty much dead in the water. And unfortunately Im not knowledgeable enough to diagnose it. What do you guys think (Axle, LCA, etc.)? She said she was pulling into the driveway (very steep driveway btw) which was followed by a POP! The LCA was grinding into the rim as you can see. I thought it was the axle. However, I can't see anything visually wrong...with the axle that is Help would be greatly appreciated.
The boot is leaking. However, its not torn. The metal tie has come off.
Grindage
Thanks in advance!

From what I undestand the entire LCA and ball joint need to be replaced. The boot isn't ripped. The metal tie came off one side of the boot.

Wow!
You should be lucky that this happend to her while just pulling into a driveway! If this kinda thing happens on a highway, it can have very nasty results...
You should see if the ball joint can be pressed out of the LCA. In many cars this is the case. However if it can't, you need to purchase a new LCA with the ball joint.
This is not something extreemly hard to replace.

^I was thinking the same thing. If this would have happened to her while going down the highway...man I couldn't even imagine!
God is good.
Thanks for the help. Got a hookup at napa and decided to replace the entire LCA. Out to the driveway I go Ahh, christmas vacation.
