97 civic dx. 98 b18c1 motor. garret turbo. new oem distributor. new oem wires. ngk v power 8's gapped 24 thousanths. hondata stage 2b. boomslang obd2-->obd1 harness. 290hp @ 9psi.

recently while I was driving home on the highway my speedometer plumeted to 0 and stayed there. next the tach started acting up. then the exhaust started popping and the throttle felt weird so i pulled over. Car wont turn over. Turns out the battery is dead. charged the battery, next day same thing. except first the srs light came on, then the oil light, then the speedo stopped, then the tach fucked up and then car shut off. has anyone had this happen and any insight into what is causing this. I dropped it off at the shop and we were thinking the battery is possibly being overdrawn by something.

any input would be helpful. thanks.

no i have not. how would i go about checking the alternator.

when i took it to the shop the first time the charged the battery and thats it. they test drove the car and it drove fine. it started up fine this morning and drove for about 40 minutes before ******* up. charged it on the side of the road and drove fine for 5 minutes. then i had it jumped and just stood there with the hood up to see if it would die and it did after like 3 minutes of idling real shitty.

once the battery dies you'll never get 100 percent of life.
