Default opinions on throttle body

Hey ht I'm shopping around for a new throttle body. My last throttle body i had was a bdl. It was getting stuck open so i trashed it. I did some research and from what i found a while ago people said to go skunk2 . But which one from skunk2? Pro series, alpha? I'm also open to other brands .

Alpha 66mm here, work like a charm. I'm not lie to you when say my gas pedal now is more easy than my 06 Altima. Zero stuck or issues.

P.S. The only issue was when I received it, not coming with the s/s bolts and the ones included are to longs, but $8 in the local bolt shop and fixed.

Are you just wanting a brand reference or size recommendation? Any more brand doesn't really matter as much as long as it has a brass plate in it and bushings/bearings that don't wear quickly.

that's the throttle body I would use. they've had nothing but great results with them and they are the same quality or better than similar offerings.

plus you're supporting a company that not only devotes itself to our hobby but supports this site as well

I plan on getting one when I start my accord f22a1 turbo build.

Buddy's skunk2 stuck open...we spun the spring so there would be more tension to close. Never had any issues after that. I personally have a Blox. Never had any issues.

I preferred the Skunk2 Alpha series because of the fact that it has a nice fine idle screw like the OEM. It made a real difference in case you change to aftermarket camshafts in which the change in vacuum would lower idle to where even the throttle plate adjustment may not be enough. I'm not so much of a fan of the Billet Pro Series models because of the sticking issues that they've experienced in past , which shawty22 might be referring to.

Yeah from my searching, I found people like the alpha skunk2 . But is it that much better then the omni one? Or the one want boost mentioned. I've also heard good things about the omni throttle body.

Yes, it was a Billet Pro Series throttle body.

define "better".. this thing isn't going to make you breakfast, man... some have OEM features that you need, and use better materials for the butterfly, others don't...

Which one uses better materials? I'm not looking for something fancy.

word.....have countless cars on the dyno with the tb with zero issues.

skunk2 i've seen a few do stick, not all

blox, i've seen 2 with manufacture defects, the tps "tab" is off center of tb, so tps signal is off.

But you want it functional and adjustable. I think the Alpha is a good choice because of that adjustment. And don't "stick" like the Billet series.

I have the billet 70mm, and yes, it did stick, but I took it off, opened the butterfly valve and took 2000 grit sandpaper to that baby and she now glides like a butterfly should. there was a spot where it just was too tight.

I also cleaned up my throttle cable some and things work like a charm now.

This. I don't know if all, but the Omni I installed didn't have a idle screw. Not very fun when dialing in idle and iac duty cycle. I would go with skunk alpha.
