Default OPEN LOOP?

I got some idea what it is, but just want to be more enlightened. Also, would it be bad if u unplug o2 sensor under boost?

your ecu controls the pulse on the injectors depending on the readings it gets from the o2 sensor, speedometer ,and other things, if you have either one not working your car will run in a open loop and run really rich and will be bogging at low and partial throttle, at full throttle the ecu has its own fuel map and does not rely on the o2 sensor

your ecu is switching between open and closed loop all the time. No the CEL doesn't come on when switched to open loop.

I'll take a stab at this, although I'm probably going to get this reversed.

Closed loop is when the ECU is adjusting fuel/timing based on a variety of sensor inputs.

Open loop, is WOT, where it is just trying to dump as much fuel, and keep up with the incoming air...

A search should clear this up... Hondata's website might even have a blurb on it...

You kinda have to infer, but this link addresses the topic somewhat.

Closed loop feedback is basically using the O2 sensor to relay back to the ecu how the car is running. If it's reading rich the ecu will take out some fuel, lean and it will add some. Open loop is just using the values stored in the ECU to control it. Closed loop will still use the same values, but will use the O2 sensor to do some fine adjustments.
