open/closed loop with hondata & vtec?
if we left my map in opn loop would that cause vtec to not engage? my car hasnt been engagin vtec since we changed the maps up and i rememebr we left it in open loop
Open and closed loop has nothign to do vtec. Just make you sure you didn't disable vtec. On the s200 there is an option where you can disable vtec. Just make sure that option isn't check off. Also you might want to see where vtec is suppose to engage.
How do you know your not hitting vtec by the way?

Closed and Open loop has to do with the 02 sensor. Closed loop means the ecu uses the 02 sensor to adjust.
edit- You really don't notice vtec while boosting as much as NA.

Your turbo is spooling up quicker than before, so boost is hitting around 4,500rpm and your vtec is set 5800rpm on the map. You probably wont notice that vtec is engaging. I never hear it engage on my engines.
hmm i har dit before, but ok , well w can actually see it go into high sppeed cam on the map right? well i guess we'll check it then , does that mean vtec is engaging thne when it crosses over to hisg cam? or whatever you cvall it

From: hittin corners so hard you can taste my rims..
to bring it back from the dead, and not open a new thread... i have a question.
alittle background...
dont' ask why, but i have a turbo Z1.. yes a VX.. and i converted to a P28 and im running uberdata... now i have it tunned in the range of 5-7 PSI, but i haven't fiddled with the lower maps.. esspecially in vaccumm. the VTEC is set as low as possible to satisfy the E-VTEC, and on the freeway its really really rich. 10.0 A/F.
so my question.
IN VTEC, does the ECU, programed or not go into open loop reguardless?
today driving on the freeway.. i saw the gas neddle plumit.. untill i pulled over, with the "J1" switch, and baby'ed it out of spool to not throw the MAP. (no boost)
at this time.. on the stock ECU ROM, it ran fine.. 14.2 - 14.9 A/F give or take.
