Ok, it's running again BUT...
it's running, but in limp mode and REALLY rich...acts like a 302 with a gigantic cam, which I assume is from being so rich.
96 Civic, using stock DX harness modified with connectors for the LS
1995 LS, skunk2 intake mani, B20 cams, cam gears on stock setting
Fuel pressure set at 35 psi w/vacuum
dsm 450cc freshly cleaned
hondata w/basemap from sgt
o2 sensor connected to primary o2 sensor connector on harness
I tested the 3 bar map, seems to be hooked up right. Switched o2 sensor connectors for giggles, same thing...lowering the fuel pressure of course helps but it's still in limp. Disconnected battery to reset ECU but chk eng light comes right back.
Is there a way to see the codes on an OBD2 car converted to OBD1?
Also does OBD have I crank fluctuation sensor? I didn't think so but just wanted to check.

Dude, you can check the codes the same way as OBD2...with the jumper harness...at least mine worked, and I have the conversion harness....

Alright, first time I've done this. I'm assuming the light we're looking at is the SRS light?
This one comes on for about 5 seconds, goes out, then comes back on solid ... doesn't seem right.

check the codes for the check engine light and come tell us what is is.
long= 10
short= 1
after that, do u happen to know if SGT made the base map for a 3bar map sensor? also, do u know if he set it in open loop? open loop and the car will run crappy as hell before its tuned. check the codes first so we can see where to go from there.

Yeah, jumpered and on not started, but I'm gonna try again.
I gave him all the specs including 3 bar map and dsm 450's but I don't know about the open loop deal Chris. I'll see if I can get ahold of him to see.
I've been thinking that it might be that he didn't set it up for one or both of those, mistakes happen but I doubt it...can't be that simple for me.
Interesting:
I was just telling Tony. I pulled out the OBD1 and Hondata and stuck a stock Civic EX 1997 ECU in there, even with the 450s it ran better and didn't go to limp mode.
Swapped back to OBD1 again, stuck the original Hondata chip in there that was supposed to be setup for 720's and not sure what MAP, but it freaked out bad, the fuel pump relay was clicking and buzzing and the fuel pump was turning on and off...all this happened just by turning the key to the on position!

that sounds fucked up chris.
If you're talking about my base map it was for a 3 bar map
can you get it to tony to see what hondata is saying on the laptop?

Re: Ok, it's running again BUT... (foozball-26)
I think I am starting to figure it out. It looks like you plugged in the EEPROM in backwards you bastard. I think that messed up the original chip. I never thought about it and plugged the new chip in the same way, and it ran, but like *** so I'm sure it was running off a backup map as it says in the Hondata manual.
Now when I flip the chip around the right direction, it won't start and I've tried every timing setting on the clock, so I'm thinking that the new chip might have been erased. I need to find my rom burner...I think it will probably burn this type of chip. Do Hondata rom files just come in standard .bin format?

haha, holy ****, you literaly fried the eprom if you put it in backwatds. Always make then otch on the chip face the wiring harness You didnt notice the massive amount of heat? I did that once on accident and smelled burning plastic. You could have quite possible fried some circuits on your ecu as well.

I got it from foozball-26 He had bought it and I assume he did the soldering..
I know the Hondata manual says it either erases or kills the EEPROM, I'm thinking that his,the first one is dead but I'm hoping that mine is just erased.
And yeah, I'm REALLY hoping the ECU is ok!

Re: Ok, it's running again BUT... (Hatchblack)
nope, I didn't install it. Tony did all the soldering and chip install.
I brought him all my stuff straight from 2k_teg.
Ask him, he should have the stuff to burn a new base map for ya.
