Did the car work fine before starting to run rich? I would check the fuel pressure (maybe a non-stock fuel pump?), injectors, make sure you're running the correct ECU and if it's chipped, make sure it has the correct fuel map, and also check the O2 sensor.

Edit: I saw in another post that you said that the car was stolen and that the harness is hacked up. If the wires aren't connect right, the ECU might not be able to provide the correct the correct duty cycle for the injectors or maybe it's not reading the O2 sensor correctly.

i got a harness from the scrap yard and it made everything a lot better, but now i have a CEL with an O2 sensor code...but the sensor is new...after i reset the ecu, it comes on without starting the car. like its not reading the O2 sensor is there. maybe the harness between the ecu and the engine harness...or the ecu....only those 2 things left to replace...blah!

you checked your fuel pressure after you got the regulator and pump right, that is a must. What kinda mileage are we talking about here. But you know your o2 sensor is one of the main components if not the main component when it comes to fuel management if your throwing a code for that you probly won't be getting a good mixture. Why are you just replacing things you can test the harness pretty easily do you have a multimeter?

the fuel pump and regulator are new. i didnt test the old harness cuz it had butt connectors everywhere...i "knew" it was no good. it wasnt even giving a CEL!lol. now i know why it was running way rich at the smog station, the ecu is dumping all that fuel in the cylinders cuz its getting no feedback from the o2 sensor....right?

i have no idea how many miles are on this engine...but it smokes a lil at full throttle and the compression is 1-190,2-210,3-215,4-210
