Default Ok, I got my engine quote!!

Talked to the main brain at SFP (Frank) yesterday about my future build this summer, here what I was quoted at:

$650 for a sleeving of the block, open water-jacket type and square decking.
$450 for a block build incl. JE pistons, Eagle rods, ARP bolts/studs, rings, balancing the crank, new bearings/seals etc..
$1300 for a complete head job incl. total port and polish of the combustion chamber, redoing the pockets, 5-angle valve job, new stem seals, Crewer valve springs, Crower titanium retainers, port matching the intake mani.

So roughly $2400 for a compleltey built D16 long block ready for high boost. I'm also gonna be getting either a Honda 2b or AEM EMS to go with it all, interesting though, the AEM he quoted at some $2,000!! I didn't know they came with a Lambada meter though, so I guess it is worth it in the end.

So hopefully by this summer, 12 second SOHC

This dont sound right or you got your #s mix up cause $450 for this would be the deal of the century..youll be lucky to find JE pistons alone for $450..id say its like $450 for pistons,$400 for rods,$80 for ARP bolts, like $200 for crank refinish and bearings.so easy $1000 for unassembled parts right there and your getting an assembled engine for $450,something aint right.make sure you get that quote on paper and dont pay a dime till its finished.

Remember this is a D-series. I alone can get JE's retail for like $370, SFP has em' in stock and obviously get's them alot cheaper than me, same with the rods and extras..

You spend like $7-something from what I see, but then I think you've got a little more in there than I will. Considering all i'm doing altogether, he may be giving me a break on the bottom end build since he's also sleeving it..? I dunno, I mean hell it's just a preliminary quote, either way I was anticipating a much higher number so it's all good for me
