Default is it ok to drive without O2 Sensor

Here is my question. Is it ok to drive without an O2 Sensor plugged in? My new Downpipe does not have an O2 bung to plug in my sensor where my old headers did. I will only be driving from my shop to the tuner which is about a 20 minute drive. It might be a dumb question but will i be ok until he makes one for me?

your o2 sensor controls your air/fuel @ your ecu, after your car reaches operating temp. Before that, it runs off a basic fuel basemap...theoretically, you can drive without one and your car will run off your basemap, and you will have a CEL.

Since you are going to a tuner, your car will be tuned to a set fuel basemap, rendering your stock o2 useless, and they can then disable your O2 sensor...I'm hoping that you will be using your stock injectors, and disconnecting your charge pipe so that you aren't boosting to your tuner....it'd be sad to hear that you blew your motor on your short drive to the tuner.

Well i have a hondata s300 taht i will be loading a basemap for my setup with 650cc injectors. But no im not disconnecting my charge pipe or having stock injectors driving to my tuner but im also going to be granny shifting and already have a basemap good enough to get me there. I was just wondering if it is safe to drive to the tuner without my O2 sensor hooked up which from what you said it is.
