oilpump modifications ??
In the past I read some things about modified B-series oilpumps.
What exactly do they mean with that?
What do they modify to increase the oil volume flow and presure?
Are they worth theire money?
Input?
Thanks

Re: oilpump modifications ?? (hondaapi)
yes there are shims that you can get for the oil pump.
I don’t think it is worth the time, money or hassle. I know people that make 800+whp on stock Honda pumps

What you are talking about is called shimming.
Part #7 is a spring, adding a .04-.05" shim to compress that spring more will cause the oil pressure relief valve to open at a higher pressure. This will increase your oil pressure by about 3-10psi depending on the size of the shim. This will ONLY increase pressure, you would need to port the pump if you wanted to get more flow/volume.

Re: oilpump modifications ?? (White Smoke)
I know that a lot of ppl are amking more than 600hp on stock oilpumps.
But if you add an external oil cooler wouldn´t it be a good idea to increase the flow?
Which area would you port? The area where to oilpickup goes to the pump? And the area where the oil is pumped to the blocks oil gallery?
Does increasing the presure help to make the main and rodbearings an easier life?
Personal experiences?
