i have T block that runs -4 line from the pressure unit to a bigger t where the oil pressure gauge temp sensor everything else goes. Mot of the oil temp gauges you can also mount in the oilpan and weld a fitting. My guages come with a control unit as well that in the engine area.

On my old CRX I got my oil temp reading from the port on the the remote Oil filter block but I will be taking my Defi oil temp readings from the port on the Moroso oil pan. A lot of people over here use an adapter on the oilpan drain plug.

I have a defi oil temp gauge (actually, all of the defi gauges). I think the best place to put it is in the oil pan. All I did was drill and tap a hole for the sender, and it has yet to leak. The oil pan isn't very thick, so tapping a hole directly into isn't the best idea - I'll probably get some fittings welded into it in the future.
