oil temp concern
I just installed a mocal thermostat and replaced my oil temp sensor at the same time a couple weeks ago. I also have a moroso oil pan, and all of the oil lines are -10. During normal driving the oil temp gauge never even registers, even after a several hour highway drive (the gauge starts at 120F).
The thermostat should be keeping the oil from going through the oil cooler and it shouldn't take that long for the oil to get hot. When I did my last HPDE, the gauge started to register after a single lap, and within a few laps it was up to around 170-180F. So I know it's not the gauge thats messed up.
Anyone else have a similar setup that could offer any insight?

Re: oil temp concern (Farnsrocket)
It seems like thats the problem, but a few laps around the track and it's up to 170. Plus I've noticed water temp reading lower than normal. My water temp gauge isn't hooked up so I'm going off my stock gauge. I was on the highway last week for about an hour and looked at it and it was reading much lower than normal. Almost makes me think the cooling system is just way too good for normal driving. I've got an aluminium moroso oil pan as well, which I'm sure cools things down quite a bit.

I just did a 4 hour drive on the Interstate yesterday and my gauge just got barely above 140 F. i was thinking about running an oil cooler, but I don't think I'm going to worry about it until after the turbo install. Then I will watch what the temps do.

Re: oil temp concern (Brian_92GSR)
Drove home last night for an hour - fairly cold outside. The oil temp wasn't registering at all, and water temp using the stock gauge was barely above registering. Definately seems like the entire engine is just running extremly cold. Definately not a problem with the oil temp gauge.
