oil sensor, do i need it?
i jus hooked up my turbo.. its not done yet.. i did the oil feed line and didn't put the oil sensor in and i was told that u need to hook up the oil sensor too.. wha happens if u dont run oil sensor?
most people that take the oil sensor off take out the oil bulb from the back of the cluster...
apparently its not too useful since it usually comes on after an obvious amount of damage to the engine...

the oil light detect a low pressure of oil in the motor, usually if your light is on, you have prolly lost about 2 quarts of oil in the motor. Unless you rev the living crap out of it, normal city driving will not do a whole lot of damage, and it's a good warning indication.

The oil light DOES NOT stay on if you leave the sensor disconnected. I used to have my turbo feed running straight from the block, and my GReddy oil pressure gauge running from my GReddy oil block, and I ran w/o the stock sensor for several months with no problems whatsoever.
