I recently bought my buddies eg hatch and it has a fully rebuilt b18c type r boosted on 11 psi, precision .60 trim turbo and tuned on AEM wideband. He told me about there being a "oil sandwich plate". I have no prior knowledge or even knew what he was talking about. I did some research on it and found close to nothing. I believe its a Blox sandwich plate though. But my question is, do they require any maintenance? Do you have to change anything out when doing an oil change?

Is he running an air/air oil cooler, a separate oil pressure/oil temp gauges? Crawl under there and check. But direct answer is typically no, they don't require any maintenance.

I did try and ask him about these things as well and got no response. Some help he was and i know him.. But i have a tri pillar pod with air/fuel, oil pressure and boost.

Just be careful when removing the oil filter that you don't turn the sandwhich plate too, causing the oil lines to be yanked

It hasn't leaked at all since i changed it two days ago. cold start is 80 oil pressure psi then warm and on idle 15-20 psi. I wish I could post pictures but its not letting me because of me being a trial user. I think my turbo might be shot though.. its got a tiny bit of play and when i get on it i smoke a lil out the exhaust. Im thinking blow by?

It looks like this, in between your oil filter and your block

You will probably have a braided line going to your turbo from it for the oil supply, and if he didn't have the sending unit for your oil pressure guage tapped into the low op sensor on the block it will more than likely have the sending unit for the op gauge in there too.

Yup thats exactly what it looks like pretty much. I figured that had to be what he was talking about. I just didnt know if you had to do anything to it when changing your oil. The old oil that was in the engine was blacker then black and really thick when i was going through it.

The only thing when changing your oil, that brass colored threaded piece is not only where you thread your oil filter on, but also holds the sandwich against the block on the backside and keeps seal tight so it doesn't leak. Just make sureit doesn't come loose.
