Oil restrictor problem..need help!

Oil restrictor problem..need help!
Hey guys,
I had a question for those of you using the ATP restrictor. It says it's 1/8 NPT male and 1/8 NPT female on the other side. If that's so, why cant I get any of my 1/8" NPT fittings to screw into the female end? I've tried 5 different fittings and none of them go in. However the other ends on those 5 fittings are 3 AN, and the 3AN goes right into the female 1/8 NPT.
I can get the male 1/8 NPT into the restrictors female end, but it will only go in half a turn. Do I just need to bust out the pliers and wrenches and use my gorilla-like strength and tighten the crap out of them?

idk what a pics gonna solve..its a straight forward question..plus i have no pics and cant take pics right now
i mainly just want to know how others with oil restrictors had them fit their oil lines..because ive seen its a problem through my searches but ive found no answers
