Oil Pump Help
Hey guys,
I've been looking online for a bit to see if I can find the measurements, if there are any, for the clearance between the crank and the oil pump rotor? How can I measure it, and what do I need to measure it?
We've been having issues with our 2 brand new OEM GSR oil pumps failing and destroying our motors because the rotors self destruct. We've talked to a few people that say never to line hone a motor because it causes the crank to slightly put more pressure on the rotor since the crank is slightly moving and the oil pump isn't because of the dowels.
What do I need to do to measure the clearances? Oh and I know this might now be an issue for lower horsepower motors, but this is on a 900+ horsepower drag motor spinning to 10,000 rpms, and this same thing has happened twice; destroying our whole bottom end.
Any help is appreciated.
