Default oil light paranoia

Ok so im a spaz.. and my oil press light takes a bit longer than im use to to turn off.

engine specs

ross racing pistons and rings 81.5 mm bore 8.5 compression PTW clearance set at .006 ACL bearings all clearances set at .0015 GSR crank B18C1 block manley turbotuff rods ARP headstuds B16 head ITR valvetrain crower buillet CTR+ cams[stage 1 allmotor] arospeed camgears greddy timing belt.

Ive been running it all motor and have about 100 miles on it. vtec pop is loud and crisp. engine sounds very healthy. runs very strong.

I have my oil feel line for my turbo "T"eed off the oil press sender and the line is pretty long with a plug in it until the turbo goes on.

check the vid lmk is this is normal or if i need to toss a new oil pump in.

have you physically checked your oil pressure with a good gauge rather than the dummy light? what weight oil do you run? did you check the level?

Uh... I see nothing wrong. When your oil light is on the engine hasn't even started. What's the big deal?

yeah just get a cheap autometer mechanical gauge it's a lot more accurate than your stock one. . .

just a word of wisdom here.. you can have 10 gallons of oil in your motor, and have no oil pressure. and when you have no oil pressure you have metal to metal contact in on the bearings.. and thats not good..

ps: i just watched your video.. to me that seems like a long time.. for your oil light to turn off after you start the motor

on my car, as soon as i start the motor, the oil light turns off in less than a second. in your video it seems almost like 3 full seconds there..

yet i just added some oil and it was less than a second. i dont really know why low oil could make low press. because its not that low at all. i think it has something to do with the t on the oil press sensor.

you are correct, oil level has nothing to do with oil pressure, except when there is not enough oil for the pick up to suck in. but having 2 -3 qts of oil vs having 5.. there should be no diffrence in pressure.

the T could have a affect on it.. but it shouldnt be much.. a dirty oil filter can cause some low oil pressure by a few psi.. not much.
