which oil grade do u guys use for ur turbos? i was told to use 20w 50 cuz it doesnt break down as quick, and thats what ive been using for the last month. but i live in ny, and its gettin real cold in the mornings now, and im thinking 20-50 might be too thick...just wondering what u guys use and whats recommended

 

20w 50 sounds too thick for the cold, but it works good in warm/hot weather

maybe try 10W 30 or 10W 40 synthetic of course

 

i was told to stay away from synthetic for a turbo, because its very thin, and expensive. its a stock dx motor which has not been using synthetic, and to change it every months is a lil expensive with synthetic

 

i use 5w30 redline in mine.....

how long have u been running it, and how often do u change? does it burn off alot?

 

ive been running it ever since i built the motor , its on its 5th change i believe maybe more.....and it doesnt burn at all.

 

how often do u change it? 2k, 3k?

20-50w synthetic is the way to go. Don't worry your turbo car will warm up and get the oil nice and hot just fine.

go with mobil 1 10w-30...........

 

ive been using regular oil in the car, should i do a good flush before changing to synthetic? as fa as i know the 2 dont mix
