Oil gauge

I just read about someones engine seizing and his oil gauge said 0 psi. Well I was just wondering what is involved when you install one of these gauges. Do you simply just splice into the oil sensor wire thing that your oil feed line goes into ? I'm going to be finishing up my turbo install soon, and since I did the install, I think it would be wise to get one of these.
You have to remove the old oil pressure switch, and replace it with the one that came with your gauge.
What to expect though is the pressure sensor with the kit is like four times larger than the stock one, so you have to get creative in mounting it or buy a smaler diamiter (sp?) oil filter. I whent with the smaller filter since i am religous in changing my oil; since didnt want to use elbows and various fittings that could leak.
Personal Choice.

No the wire is just a switch. You need to connect a sensing line (tube) to either the gauge (mechanical) or a transducer (electric). The sensing line is connected to the oil supply at the block- usually at the same spot the oil sender switch is connected.
I would reccommend goin with an electrical oil pressure guage because its not too smart to run that line w/ hot oil into the cabin...wouldn't be too much fun if something came loose.
