Hey y'all,
Recently finished my jrsc install on my 88 crx si. Drove it for a couple days and smoked the head gasket (I knew was going to happen) because I planned on rebuilding/building the motor anyway. My question is, what route should I go with rebuilding the internals? Lower or higher comp? Vtec head swap? Recommendations to build a badass sohc with that beautiful supercharger whine.
budget is around $
3k. SC pushes 10lbs boost as is. Obd1 conversion already done with chrome. 310cc injectors (probs need bigger injectors and fuel pump). Ebay headers, flowmaster exhaust. Skunk2 coilovers. AC delete. 4 rib pulley setup. Current head was remanufactured about 20k miles ago, but had to reuse head bolts due to time constraints, hence the headgasket issue lol.
let me know what youd recommend! As long as there's no talk of turbos haha.

Whats your target on hp?
Since superchargers lack back pressure / hate overlap / and old eatons dont do well above 6-8 psi
you must make that psi as more cfm as possible. Psi is just a restriction.
id say best think is a high CFM head.
A vtec head youll take for a max hp port job by a PROFESSIONAL.
EXAMPLE: 25% more head CFM on the same restriction (boost) = almost 25% more CFM on the same boost.
About internals most will say dont do it id say go for it.
Search for "D16 custom rods / pistons " on ebay. This combo will yield good compression not super low with oem length eagles.
