So does the greddy one with the sandwich adapter let you leave the stock oil filter in place? I've been considering relocating mine and getting a bigger filter such as a Canton Mecca.

How neccessary is the thermostat? I know it helps with warming up the engine, but is that it?

Ive been looking into an oil cooler myself and definitely dont have room for it unless I get rid of the hood latch.. are hood pins a pain in the *** to install? are they easy to use? who makes good ones.. anyway. I know B&m makes one for imports. youd have to buy the thermostat for it seperately. summit sells it for about 115 i think plus 65 for the thermostat. i called B&M and they said its a sandwitch type. I cant imagine anyway that an oil cooler would cause harm. If anything you might benefit from a slight increase in oil capacity. I have an oil temp guage but dont know wher to put the sender? B&M said closest to the pick up as possible. guess that means in the pan...anyone know where pple have istalled it? dean 89turboteg

I know a guy (same guy who has the oil cooler) who has his oil temp gauge sender in the oil pan. Sounds like a lot of trouble to drill in there for it. How innacurate is it to put it elsewhere?

Hmm so it doesn't sound like anyone here has both an oil cooler and AC? But it can supposedly be done? I guess I could always be the first ...

You use a filter for an 87 Toyota. The FRAM part number is PH2951. Here is a shot of the Greddy Oil Cooler with the Greddy Intercooler on my 97 Civic:

The horn needs to be remounted.

ive seen power steering and tranny coolers under cars so I dont see why we cant mount an oil cooler down there as well. Should get good airflow. If i can find a place to mount the sender id love to try both bottom on front mount locations to get in idea of best cooling. just got to keep it out of the way of gettign hit with anything.

Or mount it in the fender well. From the looks of your custom CAI, it looks like you could fabricate that.
