Default oil catch question

the tube from the catch can going back to the IM looks dirty from the oil. is that normal after a while? shouldn't the can catch all the oil? i was expecting the tube leaving the catch can to be clean while the one going into the can to be dirty.

The catchcan is not 100% efficient in removing the oil residue out of the crankcase vapors, so that is pretty much the norm.
