Re: Oil catch can with turbo application
you want to run the line from the catch can to your intake filter?....why would you want vented crankcase pressure and blowby gasses/oil to be routed into your intake filter....
Id just run the lines off the back of the block to the can and call it a day. Empty the can once every blue moon and be done....most cans have a drain plug underneath, you can even put a nice little drain valve on the bottom so you dont have to remove the can to drain the fluids....just put something underneath to catch it...

Re: Oil catch can with turbo application
you can vent between the filter and TB. it's kind of like the oem valve cover to intake tube idea. with a turbo it just has to be before the compressor. there's a slight positive to doing so in the vacuum created before the turbine. the downside is getting an oil film all over the cold side wheel
if i were going to do that i would black box to catch can and VC to intake tube. since the factory VC is baffled it traps a lot of the oil and minimal residue with make it through

yeah thats true, only thing is, the valve cover was the one smoking real bad thats why i am doing the catch can in the first place, it didnt smoke for a while i just had one of those little filters on it and it was fine, but i had been planing on doing it and the time called. but as far as the gass's going into the cold side of the turbo.. i hope the catch can catchs lol.

Re: Oil catch can with turbo application
the catch can came out awesome. Installed the can on the passenger shock tower ran a line into the can from the valve cover with a T fitting to the pvc valve, ran into the can, that has steel wool on the bottom of the can half way up, and on top of the steel wool i have a chunk of stainless steel aluminum kitchen scrubber, thicker material than the steel wool, to catch any fragments from the wool. On the cap to the catch can on the valve coming in with fumes, i ran a hose line from the valve to 3/4 down the can on the inside. to assure im getting the best filter system i can out of the wool and scruber. On the bottom of the can i have a drain valve to make draining the tank easyier. The valve i have at the top of the can to let the air out, comes out of the can, into a check valve that works oneway with a fine screen in the middle, to the ingen air filter, where i tapped a threaded 5/16 hose fitting on to, thats on the turbo. I want to post pictures but i cant figure out how to change my saved image to a URL ?? when i figure out how to do this i can post up some pictures

Re: Oil catch can with turbo application
First step i did was takeing the cap off the can, taking the fittings out, and cleaning the metal shavings out of the can. I had to hog out the holes for the fittings i used but the ones the kit came with would work.
