Default Off the dyno....PArt 2..

Refresh of the mind....last time...car kept misfiring around 18psi. Setup was stock honda distributor with HVC coil. B18c, Stock bore, 60-1 T4, 58 hot, 70 cold, Hondata

Switched to a Blaster SS coil and same distributor and went to 110 race gas. Best clean dyno graph..

This was around 23ish psi.

Next time around....24ish psi..

We switched to a digital 6 box and the HVC coil...same thing. Will not hold any more boost over 24psi...without shooting flames. Plug gap is around 24.

Thanks for the all your help guys!!!!

I need to figure this spark issue out first. I may not have any money left over from all my dyno days...lol

I say play with your plug wires, get the magnacors meybe you getting interference. also try resisant plugs. Play with gapping go smaller.

Brand new NGK plug wires. That gap is already really low.

hahah....not crazy at all. That is my last option. I am going to try and get a brand new one from honda on the loan program. I am also going to try and go to a coler plug as well.

I will have to talk to Vaportrail...John on the exact numbers, but everything looked great in the timing area. I can get you the numbers though here shortly.

In my uneducated eye, that looks more like a top end lean misfire. See how your 24ish psi graph starts getting jagged right as the mixture goes leaner compared to the 23ish psi graph.

Just a thought.

That is also in my next attempts, but man that is so small.

Yeah, I am going to IM him and see what his setup is.

The pass before was around high 12s-13:1 and it misfired. So we richened it up and still got the misfire. Thanks for the eye. I am at this point looking for a solution as I keep buying bandaids and they are starting to add up $$

Do you have a part number? At this point I am game for anything.

I dont recall actual timing values, but they are, as always in spec, on the conservative side. 12.8:1 a/f is right in spec for the octane gas we are running (110). C16 you can go a bit leaner, with more timing.

During a misfire, a A/F meter will usually read lean, no matter what the actual conditions are, due to excessive air content in the exhaust.

There is no reason you should have to go to 0.022" on spark plug gap, the DSM guys use 0.028" with a stock ignition system on cars making 500 whp. That is, unless your ignition system really sucks.

Use NGK BPR-7ES plugs, and gap them to like .026" or so.
