Default OEM or ARP main studs on built LS?

I'm looking at the ARP main studs for the ls and they SEEM like a good option for 80 bucks. However, I know if I go with the ARP main studs I'm running a higher tq, therefor I need a align bore.

So i'm thinking that OEM main studs are the way to go on my LS build looking at 400-450hp MAX. And if you all recommend OEM as well, is it ok to use my old OEM main bolts? OR is it wise to go with New and where to get new bolts?

I'm using ARP head studs but I dont see any negatives there...

You definitely don't need anything other than the OEM bolts for that power. And some will even state you don't need anything other than OEM, no matter the power.

Reuse the old or get new ones. Whatever you feel safe with and is within your budget.

I can mic the bolts and see if they have stretched about I suppose. Anyone know of a good source for OEM products besides the dealer??

I looked on Acuraoemparts.com and I cant find them. They have a listing for bolts but they dont specificly state what bolts they are... here is an example.

http://www.acuraoemparts.com/delray/...1&catcgry3=3DR LS&catcgry5=CYLINDER BLOCK-OIL PAN&pp=0&np=25

But Wiseco said to make sure about an oil squirter or something is a minimum of .30 from the cylinder wall??? what are they talking about?

90006-P75-003 are the 2 long bolts and 90007-P75-003 are the remaining 8 shorter ones for a 1995+ B18B1 and the B18A. I checked and the part # is the same in 1991 as it is in 1995.

http://www.acuraoemparts.com/delray/...All&vinsrch=no

They are numbers 14 and 15 on the diagram. As for oil squirters, I think he's referring to a GS-R in that sense, but I could be wrong.... There is an oil jet that sprays the backside ot the piston on a B18C1... p/n 15280-P72-000 which the LS doesn't have.

on my new buildup, I went with ARP, but the OEM ones work fine at a little over 300 with no problems after 3 years for me.

The main reason I didnt want to go ARP is because of the distortion they cause by their tq specs and I'm not so sure I trust my machine ship to align bore my block.

Thank you a bunch for your information reformed ricer! I'm going to go ahead and order the OEM bolts. I however recall people talking about installing the orfice on the top of the block that feads the oil to the head.. I was thinking they meant keep the gasket thicker the .30
