I believe people have talked before about how they had to take them apart and tighten a few things down before installing them.

It could be normal or it could be wrong. You need to take it apart to check it out. Nothing rattles in a new Quaife.

Mine does the same thing, I dont hvae mine in yet but when you shake it there is something that can move inside of it. I would think this is normal with all LSDs when you shake them.

Honestly, rattling inside an LSD is not good. I have never heard a Quaife rattle and have never heard an OEM LSD rattle, so obviously something is wrong. Either open it up and figure out what it is or send it back and get a quality LSD. I don't understand why someone would buy an OBX over an OEM ITR LSD seeing as how the ITR LSD is ~$200 less and is not a total piece of ****......

Well anyone making enough HP to grenade an ITR LSD has spent some money on building and turboing a motor. Like tuning, a good drivetrain is a necessary part of any high performance build. I have no problems with my ITR LSD and over 360 whp, maybe because I'm not launching the **** out of mine.....

The OBX may handle power, but good luck getting the axles out of it, and now this one rattles? The gears inside are horrible finished and the quality is just not there. Gimme a break, it is just like any other OBX product, a piece of shiny ****!

Where did i say anything about quality? Im well aware the quaife is a MUCH nicer piece. based on personal experience i still think the obx is better than an oem LSD. Mine didn't last long once the car ran hard with slicks...it was fine for daily driving, etc but just couldn't handle the abuse.

The rattle inside the OBX diff is due to one of the monkeys on the OBX production line. They probably dropped a banana skin in the diff

the OBX LSD is so far the only product worth money on the OBX lineup

my friend mistabone has compared it to the quaife, and they are identical

^^^Refer to bolded.... that's a rip off if the quaife is 1300. I was out the door with mine in my hand for $928 after taxes/shipping.

Identical?? Besides the fact that you need to replace the grade 2 bolts they use to hold it together lol. And you also need to take it apart and assemble it the correct way, because OBX has no idea how to.

Also the heat transfer is different, and that is what causes the axles to get stuck.

Other than that it's great piece
