i have seen pics of this before, the question i have is about d series rods, i have heard that there are 2 generation of eagle rods for the d series. the 1st (older gen) needs block notching.

the 2cd gen (newer) doesnt need to notch the block.

is this true? if so how can i tell the difference before i would buy them?

The last time, I did a single cam motor I had to notch the block with eagle rods. This was about 5 months ago. I didn't know that eagle came out with new rods that wouldn't require notching.

 

poop,,,what exactly is notching? I'm guessing its NOT a big deal? Any picts? How much would that cost?
