not a honda but needing some help
ok so me and my buddy got our hands on a 88 mazda 323 awd turbo 1.6 a couple months ago and we have been tinkering with it and we found a bov for it.
my question is (sorry im new to this) we ran a line from the one port of the bov to the cruise control line and a t off of the intake manifold. would this be a ok vacuum source? is there a better spot for vacuum? the turbo on it is a rhb5 14v or something like that really small does anyone know if they are internally WG or external? some help would b awesome tia
o also at idle the bov sounds like it is leaking a lil bit of air past the diaprham(sp?) at idle it has 2 springs on the inside we tried each one by there selves and what not but no go. so is the bov junk? there is a adjusting screw on top of it sorry for the newb ?s

As for the external or internal wastegate, just look at the turbo...
If there is a little metal rod across thetrubo leading to a little metal cylinder looking like thing, its internal, if not, then its external. External would hate a wastegate coming off of the manifold instead of the turbo.
As for the vacuum line, I always have mine t'd off from the brake booster line.

Re: (ILcrxsi1)
enough that you can feel the air coming out of it??? does the position of the bov or where on the intake its located make a difference?

actually dont they use a VAF (vein air flow) on the older ones... like the mx6 gt turbo does (fun cars)... and a open atmosphere dump of the pressure from an aftermarket blow off will cause a rich condition when it releases pressure (or if it is leaking). the air is metered before the blow off and when it escapes the system... you are left with the added fuel enrichment for that metered air which has been vented = so the a/f goes very rich.
you could recirculate it though and fix that part of the problem. still curious about the bov leaking though, what kind of bov is this?

Re: (twkdCD595)
im not sure my freind had it and couldnt remember what it was off.
it is purple with one port a adjusting screw on top.
see we have it sitting right off of the throttle body.
how would you recirculate it by running a line from the port on the bov to a port right after or before the vaf sensor?
