Default is this normal while doing a compression test?

i noticed that when i went to check my compression gauge, i can see the pressure slowly leaving the cylinder. i have good numbers,195-200 across the board for a 9:5.1 cr motor but i was just wondering if this was normal.

no it shouldnt move until you hit the release. you either have a bunk guage or its not tight enough in the sparkplug hole, check the o-ring on it.

The gauge itself is supposed to retain the pressure. That is why you dont just crank once and have an instant pressure reading on the gauge. It is supposed to hold the pressure until you release it via the pressure release button on the gauge. If it was due to the cylinders losing pressure, then you would have to crank, hurry and look at the gauge before it dropped too much..
