Default Noob booster.. custom kit, suitable?

Ok, i'm new to boosting but have read various forums for the last week or so to gain as much knowledge as possible. I reckon i've got a fair grasp of the whole idea and feel confident enough to build my own turbo kit. Here's my suggestions:

(before you hit me with "get rid of the manifold" i know, but i'm going to support the turbo etc.. plus i'll be getting a revhard manifold in the not so distant future)

Anyway..

SSautochrome manifold, turbo, downpipe kit (this months special)
SARD Racing BOV (already bought)
Apexi VAFC (using the "hack" method)
RC 440cc/min Saturated Injectors
Walbro 255lph fuel pump
Tial Wastegate with 5.6psi spring
TurboXS boost controller
Intercooler unknown (junkyard? as long as it's big and pressure tested should be ok?)

Other than that, that's all i can think of, oh and a Blitz filter (apparently i can get them).

I'm running a UK EK4 1.6VTi (B16A2 - 10.2:1CR)

Would this setup be ok as i'm not looking to push to much bhp! plus what could be expected if i run at say 6 or 7 psi?

p.s. the car's stock otherwise.. in a few weeks i'll be getting a new manifold, t3/04 turbo, test pipe and cat-back..

let me know what's yous think! cheers

seems good, but you may just wanna wait for the rev-hard manifold, also you should really dyno your car to do the "hack" method. Do you have any dynos readily available, and go to a junkyard and find an intercooler of an old lancer or something along those lines or whatever other cars come with them over there

Well yeah i've heard mixed comments about the SSautochrome manifolds but as long as i don't bost too much and take most of the weight off it i reckon i may be alright- just until i get my revhard manifold.

A dyno is available to me, and probably cheap! as the guy that owns the garage is sound, esp. when it comes to Hondas. He has a DC2 turbo'd and had a block build up!.. he should be pretty good as far as tuning is concerned. That's one thing i'll definitely not take any shortcuts with; tuning's everythin'.

I'm going to the scrapyard tomorrow to find an intercooler. What's the largest size intercooler that will fit without cutting anything?

Who ever told you that, kick them. A big intercooler is not allways best. The core size on the drag kits will suffice.

I would say you should see about 230 to the wheels with this. Just a guess though.

i agree on the manifold you maybe able to sell it for something if its new, but you will get nothing when it cracks, but like i said go to a junkyard even a sidemount off of some cars will suffice for 230ish hp

Well i havn't ordered the manifold or anything yet, so if my Ebay auctions go really well i may just get the revhard manifold straight off, we'll see.

so an intercooler size of 27X6.5X3 should be sufficient? cool.. i'll see what i can find.

Cheers for the replies guys! 230bhp? cool, not greedy me!

ok so i got my SARD racing BOV and an intercooler.

not very good pics but do you think this intercooler will do the job? Obviously i'll need to get someone to fit over that "hole" not just a normal pipe. Plus, this may sound daft, but what side is the inlet and what side is the outlet?

oh btw the sizes are:

18x6.5x2 ... that's just the core (i think) i.e. not including the black casing!

well sort of a elongated "D" shape. I could get the OEM pipe of fitting that went on it and bodge something up.. I don't think it'll be too much of a problem.

you could get a lovefab shorty for $300, I don't know what you are paying for the rev hard - just a thought. And johnnyracecar intercoolers are like 220 or so.
