Default No Spark but have fuel

Took out my LS turbo yesterday to warm it up and do a compression test. Pulled all wires off distributor and pulled one plug at a time hooked up gauge and cranked it over. When done put all wires back on in wrong order turned over but no spark put wires in right order and still no fire. Fuel pump primes changed rotor cap, checked fuses and still no fire. Could I have burned something up putting the wires in the wrong orderand trying to start Any help? Thanks

Starting car with no plug wires on cap could have damaged coil. Hook up a plug to any wire and make sure you have no fire by grounding threaded part to block. Have a friend turn it over. If no fire, get a meter and check the coil resistance and exciter resistance and go from there. Your book should give you the values.

I was going to do this tonight had girl turn it over and no spark what so ever from plug when grounded. The meter is confusing the hell out of me on how to read it checking the coil and all using the helms. Thanks

Sorry for the late reply, yes it can damage the coil or the ignition module (excitor). It may or may not always, but is not worth the risk. The coil creates enough energy to jump a .040 gap, if you are just turning it over without any path of release it may very well of damaged the unit.

There are three posts on the coil: the one the plug wire or cap hooks up to and a positive and negative. Your manual should give you resistance values to check between the posts. If it is out of limits, replace it. It should also give you checks for the module. I ususaally have my manuals in my trunk but they are at home because I was working on my turbo manifold over the weekend. Good luck.

I did that twice and both times was the stupid ignitor... actually I think I was the stupid one for doing it the second time
