no power under 3k ? (t25 crx)
ok last night mee & a freind put on a t25 turbo on my 88 crx . im using a p28 with s100 . 550 cc injectores . jrc 8' intercooler , turboxs blowoff .
when i go to take off the car just kinda bogs! & doesn't really have any power . & i gotta kinda bearly pushon the gas 2 get it to about 2 and a half or 3k & then it goes . just takes off . so i gotta keep the car obove 3k it will go . it's kinda roght
& it bogs alot . what would cause this . this is my first turbo setup , so im new 2 it .
& it's not throwing any codes

yes
the whole setup went from one car to another.
the only thing diff is it's a d16y8 instead of a d16z6 & a crx , besides a eg civic .

Re: no power under 3k ? (hedtrip)
Its probably way rich below 3k.
Mine untuned idles in the 12's when cold.. when warm its right around 14.7, and i notice that there is much less lag when its warm then cold.. I obviously dont beat on it.. Just normal driving, it picks up faster once warm, when the AFR's are proper.
Oh yeah.. Its getting tuned tonight, then i can see what i can do

Exactly
running too rich can ruin your engine.. driving on someone elses tune can kill the engine.. if you keep driving the car you WILL kill the engine... Any questions?

man get it tuned..
My idle was funky, too high, hard hot starting, ran OK but not good. After the street tune its like night and day, went great, starts perfect, idle is mint etc..

Re: (AbitAvenger)
what i dont get is . if y8 ,d15b& z6 are diff . then why do alot of ppl use p28's on y8's & d15b's ?
i used one & it drove fine . . if it was that far off wouldn't be throwing a diff codes .
it's not throwing any . starts & ideals fine . it was throwing 21 (vtec) & 41 (02sensor) & i fixed those .
i gunna have it retuned . i just wanna understand why it wont work .

What don't you understand? Sometimes it just doesn't work. My Uberdata map has been used by everybody and their mom, but some cars it just won't work very well on. Every setup is different and you have to get your car tuned specifically for your motor/setup. If you start out with somebody else map it's just a basemap to get you running and to the dyno. Lots of things can factor in why it won't work, engine mileage, weather, stock exhaust vs open downpipe, failing turbo parts, shitty spark plugs, clogged filters, etc...

Re: (hedtrip)
I have to ask, are you still using the resistor box? Are the injectors saturated or peek and hold? Turbo cars don't need backpressure, in fact you really don't want any.
If the car won't run right, its probably loading up. The same tune doen't always work even if everything is the same. Need to at least check the tune out for peice of mind.

Backpressure is NEVER needed, ever.. People often blame their 'lost of torque' when they slap 3" exhaust on their stock b16 due to no backpressure. What really caused the problem was the exhaust velocity.
