Default no leaks, no boost!

okay, so i did a leakdown test through my WHOLE turbo system...fixed all the leaks, so right now the system holds boost when i pressurize it with my air compressor. when i drive it, NO boost...at all...what else problems could make it so my car doesnt boost? I have a tial wastegate that is bolted on good, no leaks from that. brand new turbo...before i pressurized the system, i took off a part of the charge piping to see if there was air blowing out of the turbo...it is. what could be wrong? my bov doesnt sound, and my gauge shows no boost. please help me!

You're checking for leaks in the wrong place. Look for leaks in your charge pipes and also exhaust leaks.

Finally, Tial comes with a little steel gasket ring, make sure that is in and is right side up or the wg will stay open and leak exhaust pressure straight into the dump tube.

okay, this is how i did my pressure test...i hooked up a hose to the turbo inlet and pressurized the system with with my air compressor...so i found like 5 leaks in my charge pipes and my vaccuum lines...my tial wastegate DOES have the ring inside, so its sealed up.

So a exhaust leak would actually cause one to not be able to produce any boost?

If you run with and exhaust leak around the turbo it might not spool or take longer to spool.

Take off the downpipe and see if the turbo is actually spinning when you rev it.

well i i already tested to see if the turbo is spinning because i put a piece of paper by the turbo inlet, revved it, and the paper was sucked in...not into the turbo, but you know what i mean...this is really bothering me...i have a custom 2.5 in. downpipe...before i fixed the leaks, the turbo actually boosted, but only 4psi(i have a 9psi spring)...after i fixed the leaks, no boost! the turbo was not internal wastegate before either...what the hell is going on, anybody?

okay, i just remembered something...i have been reusing the exhaust manifold gasket. now, before, like i said, it boosted. maybe this last time i took off the manifold, it broke the seal on the gasket...now, could a leak in the gasket cause this drastic of a change? i need to go tracks on sat, so i dont want to do something only to find out it was something else...anyone have any opinions on what else could be wrong?

Umm, yeah ok.

Anyways if it's you nmanifold it could be possible, but Have you checked you wastegate, and see if it was sticking open? Sorry, I've seen it before.

it cannot be my wastegate stuck open, because the dumptube is clean as a whistle! which means that the wastegate was never open.

its like a different kind of sound...not really a spooling, like i used to hear...the sound is hard to explain, but i figure its spooling, because well, i held a piece of paper near the inlet, and the turbo was sucking it inwards...so idk.

are you using a manual boost controller. it may be hooked up wrong.

happend to me. boost would be trapped between the MBC and the wastegate actuator so I'd never get boost after the first run.

pull the hose off the actuator and id hear pressure blow out and the wastegate slamed shut

Since you fixed the other problems it can either be at the head where the turbo mani is attatched, or at the turbo, or wastegate itself. Otherwise I have no idea what to tell you.

i know its not the wastegate, because the dumptube is suuuper clean, so the wastegate cant be opening. The turbo is torqued down tight to the manifold. the only thing i can think of is that my used manifold gasket is leaking, but my car should at least be boosting a little...cmon, somebody has to have an answer? or is all of hond-tech stumped???
