Default nitrous on low compression

ok well im building a motor that will one day be boosted and im gonna get pistons that have comp. ratio of around 8.3:1 ...what i was wondering is are there any benefits to running lower compression ratios with nitrous . or is it bad in any way? other than the simple fact that every one says nitrous is bad for your motor ..?

nitrous on low compression is a NO NO, nitrous does however like higher comp ratios, even up to 15:1

dont do the separate gas tank thats just a waste of money. its not going to help you at all, just run 94 when your planning on spraying. why8.3:1 thats awful low, go more around 9.0-9.1:1. you can run a 50-75 shot with proper gas and timing retard.

ok well ...why is low compression bad .for it? also the motor will be boosted and its going to be a strictly track car .. also is the 9.0:1 gonna be effecient once i go turbo again? ..im planning on breaking this car into the 11's..and will need an awfully big amount of PSI once i finally go turbo but the nitrous is how it is gonna be running for the first month or 2

minus the first month or 2, sell the juice kit, and lessen the time of N/A, do the turbo, boost loves low compression, crank the boost instead of spraying..... and tune tune tune!!!!!!!

ps: i foget if u mentioned it but of course this is on a built motor

enjoy 11's man......cant wait to hit it soon

i did mid 11, on a stock GSR and a 95 shot, but it had factory compression.

our race car(domestic) runs around 14.5 comp ratio but we spray 800hp!

the cylinder temps on a nitrous motor are more vicious than a turbo motor, it goes from normal to insane where as a turbo is gradual heat. basically too much combustion way too fast. on high compresison timing and racegas are the key, but on low it just doesnt seem to work as well

well what do you guys think ....build it for nitrous ? or build it for turbo ? ....if i decide to go with nitrous what would be the best compression ratio ..and all that good stuff?

please explain why race gas isn't any good for nitrous?

i spend like, 150 bucks TOTAL to make a seprate fuel system to feed my nitrous setup. 1 gallon fuel cell was 85shipped on ebay, holley pump and regulator was 50 bucks +/- 5, and almost nothing to make a fuel line.

personally, i think this is the way to go...........

you point about running 50-75 on pump gas is correct, but who wants to do that on a built motor? something tells me that slo_crx was was wanting to run a TAD bit more than that.

nah man i didnt mean race gas isnt good for nitrous, i meant the who second gas tank idea is stupid. why not just jet it for 50-75 of your gonna run 94, or if your only going to spray at the track, then jet it higher, but dont spray unless you have race gas in your tank. i guess its a good idea but its a hassle.

low compression isn't "BAD".......you just wont make as much power
