Default Nitrous backfire through intake - possible damage?

I have my wet nitrous wired to a switch, one with arm and one with spray. Finished up last night, sprayed a few times with it (50 shot) and decided to head to the track. Anyway, to make a long story short, i was losing traction, and like a moron, i let up on the throttle, leaving the switch on. When I got back in it, a huge BOOM and flames out of the intake, as well as the exhaust I was told by onlookers. The car ran for a second, then sputtered out and died. I tried to start it again, and after a few min of trying, i finally did. Seems to run fine now, so could i be lucky and have gotten away once?

least ur intake mani didn't blow up like one of those new civic ones would've
you should change that spray switch to a button for safety reasons i'm sure you can figure out.
hope your engines fine. good luck

I've seen nitrous backfires break and bend throttle bodies, blast valves into cylinders, blow heads off of cars, set engines on fire, blow head gaskets, melt all sorts of ****, and blow a myriad of pipes off of manifolds. If I were you, I'd inspect literally everything in the intake and exhaust stream.

You will blow the welds off your intake...and then me and the mad scientist will have to tear it down to replace the piston rings you fried.

I'm ran it with a WOT switch and never backfired once. You might want to look into running one of those.

WOT switch + 2 step launch control = some serious backfire. Obviously this won't affect everyone with nitrous and a WOT switch, but it will affect anyone with nitrous with a WOT switch and a 2 step.
