Apexi only, no blue box
I have a D16Z6 aka 93 del sol si
I have searched for 3+ hrs now looking at vafc hacks and what not
I need to know if i run the greddy kit at 5.5psi, do i need to do the hack. I have a apexi vafc. I know the blue box richens the fuel mix, so why not just do the same thing with the apexi vafc. Also, if i can just use the vafc with my stock injectors, what settings should i use on the vfac. Thanks a lot, i really appriciate any feedback

Re: NEW turbo question (Del_Slowest)
If your just going to run 5.5 psi the blue box will be fine, so you won't need the vafc. Once you learn more and want to up the boost get some bigger injectors (RC 440cc or DSM 450cc), install the vafc, and lose the blue box.

Re: NEW turbo question (BDTURBO)
I love p0gi, he just answered my question. just for future ppl on here here is what he said.
I dont know if anyone has answered your question, but no you wont be able to use the vafc with stock injectors and run boost, unless you install an FMU. The reason the blue box can is because it has the ability to pulse the injectors, where the apexi only manipulates map signal. So if you try adding the map into the positive direction, your car will throw a check engine light for seeing boost. Anything past 2.9 volts coming fromthe map sensor the ecu throws a code. The blue box has a built in map sensor voltage limiter that will stop raising the voltage once 2.9 volts is reached. Ok and now the reason the hack works is because the injectors are 35-40% larger than stock, so you set the fuel map to -35 across the whole range. So now your deducting 35% of the voltage from the map sensor. So even when the map sensor goes into boost, and sends out say 4 volts the vafc is only sending out 2.6 volts, so the ecu doesnt think your boosting. I hope that helps
