Default new track times!

R/T .694
60ft 2.244
330 5.902
1/8 8.842
mph 83.82
1000 11.385
1/4 13.519
mph 105.68

what u think? its a new personal best but I know i can do better.. ran that on 9psi.. it was about 35-40degrees outside so my mph is good but the track wouldnt hook at all..

Equations used:
ET = CubeRoot of (weight/hp) * 5.825
HP = Weight/(ET/5.825)³
HP = (mph/234)³ * weight
MPH = CubeRoot of (hp/weight) * 234

-----------------------------------------------
Using the ET method, I come up with 214 horsepower
Using the Speed method, I come up with 247 horsepower http://www.dsm.org/tools/calchp.htm
-----------------------------------------

Great times....that's what i'd like to see when i drop in my turbo. How'd you launch it? I think you can improve those times in the first 60'. I've only been once with my car (stock 98 LS) and i got 60' of 2.30's

do you have hondata? if you plan on gettin one... post your track times so we can see the difference that tuning makes at the same psi.

good times!

Awesome time, Chris! Lower that 60 ft. even more and you're looking at low 13s, with a shot at a high 12. Damn....I wish I still had my teg.

ill definitly post times after hondata.. but i dont think theyll improve a whole lot on the same psi.. but Im gonna up the boost so the trap speeds will definitly improve..

As is now I think i could do a 13.3 if i can get a 2.0 60ft.. its definitly possible on the tires im on.. I launch at around 3800-4200 but ive noticed the only time I hook up is when I do a real good white smokey burn out.. otherwise the tires just spin into 3rd..

last night someone told me to do my burn outs in 2nd gear, that way i can get the mph up higher and not bounce off the rev limiter so much.. what are your thoughts on doing this? should i try it?

Heck yeah chris, you should do your burn outs in 2nd gear. Thats how I used to do it, back when I used to race my car at the track. Dont worry I'll run it as soon as you lent me borrow your slicks..

DIRep, nice times! Whats your O2 voltage throughout the run? I think maybe you can lean out your setup a little.. closer to a 12.8:1 and get better HP numbers and 1/4 times.

I dont have a wide band, yet .. but when my EGT's are at 730-760 when boosting 7-9psi at WOT.. thats with the greddy EGT gauge tapped into the downpipe.. they'd read slightly higher if it was in the manifold.. Right now the car has no tuning, I did dyno with wide band though, A/F was 10:1 during boost at 8psi.. When we tune with the hondata were gonna go for a conservative 11.9:1 A/F and hopefully extract a few extra ponies..

Direp: If you are waiting for hondata what are you doing for fuel enrichment now? Fmu and stock injectors?

Congrats on the times bro, and yeah, if you get that 60ft down you I bet you could definitely hit a 13.3, or maybe put your car on a diet!

yes FMU + bosch inline + walbro intank + stock injectors.. I run octane boost at 9psi since im running stock timing.. good weather + good track conditions + good launch + good driving + small diet and 13.2 is well within reach.. thats alot of stuff thats gotta go right though..

u know what i just got to thinken about? alright, last time I was running in about 10 degree warmer weather and running 8.5psi and no octane booster, my traps were 103.. I only turned up the boost .5psi to 9 and added octane boost this time and now im running 105mph..one time hit 106.. does this sound right? u think the octane boost actually could have added hp?

Humidity plays a major factor of how cars run as well. I dont think that the octane booster did much.

Oh yeah! Nice times man. I cant wait to see what I will run..

Good job DIRep972!
For a minute there, I thought you'd copied my paper. Our slips are nearly identical! This was my best run with my GS-R at 6 psi on stock Michelins. My tires spun all through 1st and 2nd (as I'm sure yours did too) and my clutch slipped pretty badly in 4th which probably accounts for the lower mph. At any rate, congrats again! I'm still amazed at how close the 2 timeslips are! Click the link in my sig to compare.

I doubt you'd be jealous. I don't drive the car often (stays in the garage) and still haven't replaced the clutch. I have lots of parts sittin' around collecting dust and I'm too lazy to put 'em on. (8(O) D'oh!

Your car is strong! Put some slicks on that ride and run some 12s!
