new throttle body, pig rich
I just put a new ls (4mm over) throttle body on my b16a. I'm trying to calibrate the tps but i'm getting wacky readings. Car is running pig rich shitting fuel everywhere, as the wideband will concur.
I then loosened the tps and moved it back and forth and it made no difference? ( yes its on correctly) What could be the problem ?

I had the same problem you have. My TB gasket was no good, there was a vacuum leak to the map sensor so it was reading low vacuum (ran rich). Went to the dealership and bought a new one for like 5 bucks. Works perfectly now.

Yup! Happened to me as well. Put your ear up to your tb at idle and see if you hear a leak. Go get yourself a new gasket or some gasket paper, and that should fix it. I was running so rich it smoked out my friends entire block, and smelled like burning seeweed.

Re: (rhd)
match the manifold?
No i didnt trim gasket, its only off a few mm's here and there. Can hardly imagine that would make it be pouring gas out

Re: (MIKE JONES)
well to be sure i trimmed all around the gasket and matched it to manifold opening. Without the charge pipe on its idling at 3 grand, and still rich. If i hold my finger over the big hole right before the plate it idles down good ?

Re: (MIKE JONES)
take the gasket and TB off, hold the gasket on the backside of the TB, i bet you find where the leak is.............
on another note, is it the upper hole in the tb or the lower hole?
sounds like it could be the Fast Idle thermo valve.

guess you have a bad one...or a leak at it
check that</TD></TR></TABLE>
yeah do you even have the IACV hooked up?? that will most definitely affect idle...
and are you just leaving that hole open to the air? lol.
