i have a 97 gsr and im in the middle of ordering all my parts for my build. i wanna
SC in the future but fir right now i just want a fresh built motor.
Parts that i have are eagle rods and all the gaskets
Parts i need input on
srp pistons 11:1 compression
arp head studs
brian crower springs and retainers
supertech valves (the high compressions ones)
supertechs valve guides
aem cam gears
just need some input on wat you guys think of this setup. its my DD and for right now im going to be using an AFC and a wideband. once again any input is helpful
thanx alot

Why not convert over to the darkside....(Hears turbo whispering in your ear)...i think you would be alot more satisfied with turbo if done correctly!

cr is kinda high. what kind of power are you trying to make? and why would you go supertech valves and guides but then crower springs and retainers? either get supertech springs and retainers or skunk2 or ferrea and just get the standard compression ones. i like the aebs headstuds better, but thats just me.

Re: new setup need input (tegdude227)
ive seen people make like 230ish+ on 7lbs with a supercharger before and that was on a jdm gsr motor. so your goal is definitely attainable and you prolly wont need such a high compression ratio to get there. for pistons, i would go with cp, arias or wiseco probably tho. not that srps are bad, its all just personal preference.
i would stick with all supertech stuff if thats the route youre trying to go. but ferrea and skunk2 make really good products so i wouldnt hesitate on those if you have the money. omni power makes really good products as well and im sure their valvetrain is just as good as their suspension. imho, omni power makes some of the best suspension setups- im debating whether i wanna go omni or buddyclub cuz im currently on tokico illuminas with skunk2 coilovers but havent put my new motor in yet.
stock size valves are fine, not sure how much it would benefit you to go oversize. but your machinist might charge you extra to accomodate the larger size valves. i went with skunk2 full valvetrain and 0.5mm oversize valves

Re: new setup need input (tegdude227)
i havent put my motor together yet, i just decided to go with skunk2 because i know they make a good product (even if some of their products arent actually made by them) and its been tested.
flat or dish is up to you. im not sure how much the flat raise your compression, but either will be good. i would go with the titanium retainers tho..
stock cams are fine, youll make your power goal for sure and you can always add whatever later ya know?

for the same price as your engine build and supercharger setup, you could have a ridiculous turbo setup on the STOCK engine that would make more power than what you're shooting for....

Your SC setup looks rather stout...i would look into some kind of aftercooler so that you can eventually raise the boost and have a little more fun...
what size exhaust are you planning to run??

you're going to need to tune it after the rebuild so you're not going to be able to use the stock ECU...you're going to have to get a chipped P28 (or equivalent) and run some kind of tuning software...like Crome, Uberdata, Neptune, Hondata and so forth...
