New Project:Boosted CRX
Well guys I have gotten back into the Honda game and I bought a 1988 Honda CRX with a B16. I bought it for 1600 dollars. It has headers right now and no exhaust. so when VTEC engages its loud as hell lol. The guy I bought it from said he changed the Spindles and that thew the alignment way off. But here is what I am shooting for: I am shooting for about 315 hp on stock internals. Its going to be driven a bit but not a DD. Here is what I plan on buying and if you guys have any suggestions chime in and let me know.
Turbonetics T3/T4 5 bolt flange turbo. The guy I bought it from said that it was a .50 trim and I saw that it says .63 stage III on the back.
I am going to be buying the following parts:
Autoworks Log Manifold, Downpipe, and Dumptube.
Autoworks Intercooler Kit
Precision 780cc injectors
3 Inch Exhuast from Kteller
Walbro 255 fuel pump
CC Clutch stage 3
It maybe some other things I a leaving out let me know what ya'll think I will keep you guys updated with evry step

So you guys let me know what you think of my setup

xBigBlacks 22's son. The HKS SSQV wont be able to relieve all the pressure your turbo is putting out hense compressor surge(especcially in my brothers turbo typeR project). It has a nice sound and that is it.
The only BOV's and Wastegate i would personally run, and their should be a law on this , is either Synapse or Tial.
And their warrenties and customer service is bar none to anyone else.

Yea to be honest with you I only wanted the HKS for the sound lol. So Tial is what I should go with. So do you guys think I am forgetting something????

How are you planning on getting all that power to the wheels? Invest in atleast some motor mount inserts, maybe even a traction bar. I had extreme wheel hop problems on my turbo d, only at 6 psi.
Good luck, let us know how the build goes.

Re: New Project:Boosted CRX (MadScientist305)
yea I am def. gonna keep everyone updated on the build. I just went and got a front bumper support today although that has nothing to do with the build I needed it tho. Where can I get some motor mount inserts from and I was gonna get a traction bar anyways

what he need inserts for he needs motor mounts to put a b-series motor in a 88-91 crx/civic

I wanted to buy some ITRs but I got the GSRs for 70 dollars and I may just get the valve springs and retainers to be safe

Re: New Project:Boosted CRX (Bonestock98GS)
if ur gonna get springs and retainers u might aswell use them with some ITR/CTR cams.
Otherwise, leave the springs stock.

yea, run a smaller injector. that's more injector than what you'd need for 315 wheel. the larger saturated injectors (~700cc+) need a stronger signal to work reliably than what a honda ecu can provide. when you go that big, you should have better injector control, either with an injector driver box, or a standalone ecu that has a better injector driver built in.
peak and hold injectors are what you want when going big.

Re: (full Circling)
shouldn't 440cc injectors be able to hold 300whp?? deffinitally look into a full-race traction bar. it made a WORLD of a difference on my brothers Turbo R.

Re: (full Circling)
440cc injectors maxed out with a 255HP fuel pump and the FPR cranked will MAYBE get him to 315whp. 780's will get to 400whp on E85, let alone E10 gas, and work fine with the oem injector driver in the ecu if they're peak & hold.
BTW he did not mention if he's going saturated or P&H, but larger Precisions are usually P&H. And fwiw, the overly large saturated injectors are problematic because they are usually smaller injectors that have been reworked, meaning the coil really isn't big enough. Its basicly because the 'plunger' is too big for the coil in that case, and the coil isn't powerful enough to close it.
