Good god man, resize that pic!

Is that just an electric motor attached to the crank?

I don't get it.. Why not just use the electric engine as a direct drive? Or is it an air compressor?

From the looks of it, looks to be a replacement for the alternator? Probably has less of a parasitic loss than the stock alternator?

I saw this at SEMA, and spoke to the company... It was on a SOHC civic with 20's on it, and was black primer...

They claim that it gives 100lb/ft of torque at 1000 rpms... It replaces your alternator, and comes with a funky charging system, and uses the deceleration of the motor to recharge the battery...

I found it scary that they had an 80's vette master cylinder on the car...

A. Its an electric motor that basically will spin faster than the motor's power can do itself, and force the crankshaft to spin faster without actually inducting more air into it. Basically it turns your car into a hybrid.

B. I dont think the pulley is completely mounted correctly in that pic... I would assume it isn't b/c of the slack on the belt

its probalby not meant as a power adder,(as in as powerful as say a turbo, nos or a supercharger)

but more along the lines of a wa to acheive more gas milage.

seems like a pair of glass's for a person with bad sight..its not like its lazer surgery or anything.

Default Re: (2.2Lcivic)

electric motors do make gobs of torque. it would be feasible this thing could give a civic some low end grunt.

but its not going to be anything like a turbo, aka high end power. you simply cannot generate the quivalent amount of electricity needed to = the power of a turbo at high rpm.
